Operations Department

In dark, classified space, lurk the men of the Operations Department.

The Communications section, where Radiomen receive messages ordering ST CLAIR COUNTY into action directly from vital command centers all over the world. Also received are more general messages such as telegrams from home and news of the war and the world. Our Signalmen communicate with other ships by flashing lights.

The complicated communications equipment, our electricians navigation systems, and highly sensitive radar, are carefully watched over by the Electronics Technicians.

The Yoemen and Personnel men handle the many thousands of pieces of correspondence that flow through the ships' office annually.

In the absence of a Medical Officer, APC's are capable dispensed by our Hospital Corpsmen, to whom is entrusted the health of the officers and men of the crew over long periods of time.

The Combat Information Center, manned by capable Radarmen, ensure the ship is constantly aware of ships in the area, its' position electronically determined, and maintain the tactical situation.

Enough said about our Quartermaster that he guided us over 22,000 miles.
